01Oven not heating evenlySMEG multi-function ovens use separate elements and a fan for each mode. If one setting cooks poorly, that element or the fan is the first thing we check.
02Burner ignition troubleA burner that lights but goes out when you release the knob often has a dirty or worn flame-safety thermocouple. No spark points to the ignition switch or module.
03Refrigerator not coolingNote the temperature and look at the back wall. On the retro-style refrigerators, ice on the back wall or water under the crisper drawers often means a blocked defrost drain.
04Dishwasher not drainingRinse the filter assembly in the bottom of the tub first. If water still stands, the drain hose or drain pump needs checking.
05Water leaksWater under a refrigerator usually traces to the defrost drain; under a dishwasher, to the door seal, a hose or the pump.

What should I have ready before my SMEG service visit?
The model and serial number, a short description of what the appliance is doing, any error code on the display and when the problem started. Here’s how to find your model number.
Do all SMEG products use the same service and parts path?
No. Share the appliance type and exact model so equipment scope, parts support and any warranty eligibility can be confirmed. Large kitchen appliances and small countertop products don’t always have the same repair options.
Why is there water at the bottom of my SMEG refrigerator?
SMEG refrigerators defrost the back wall automatically, and the meltwater runs through a small drain hole to a tray where it evaporates. If that drain hole clogs, water collects under the crisper drawers or ice forms on the back wall. If water keeps coming back after the drain is cleared, we check the drain, the door seal and the defrost operation.
My SMEG oven doesn’t heat on one setting. Is the whole oven failing?
Usually not. SMEG multi-function ovens switch different elements and the fan on for each setting. If conventional bake works but fan bake doesn’t, for example, the fan element or fan motor is the likely cause. List the settings that work and the ones that don’t, and we’ll test those parts first.
How much does SMEG repair cost?
Every SMEG repair is priced by the job rather than by the hour. After we diagnose the problem, you see a written estimate and decide whether to go ahead. Service call fee waived with completed repair.
