Troubleshooting Whirlpool Oven Not Heating
Here we will go over 6 of the most common reasons why your oven may not be heating.
1. Whirlpool Oven Igniter Problem
This will only apply if you have a gas oven. (For electric oven troubleshooting see below.) If your oven igniter has gone bad, your oven won’t be able to light the gas to create a flame and heat the inside of your oven. The most common ignition source is a Norton glow igniter. Other less common ignition devices include spark, and Pilot. If you look inside and the oven wont light, this is usually the first thing to check.

2. Bake Element Not Working
This will only apply if you have an electric oven or dual fuel oven. If your bake element is not working, usually the oven will still get hot because the broil element is helping to get to temperature. The oven will take long to get to temp and sometimes wont heat at all. If your element isn’t working or the element is sparking, you should always turn the circuit breaker off and call a trained oven professional. 3. Whirlpool Oven No Power
The first thing to check when the oven won’t turn on would be the circuit breaker. If the circuit breaker is tripped the next thing to do would be to call a trained professional to figure out why it tripped. Another thing to check would be if the control lock is on. Sometimes it can get pushed accidentally and cause the oven to not turn on. Last thing to check would be if the oven control is set properly. Refer to your Owner’s Manual for more information on setting the controls.
4. Whirlpool Oven Door Wont Unlock
The oven door locks when you put your machine into self-cleaning mode. This mode tends to cause more problems than it’s worth, it may be a good selling point, but not a very good feature. The cleaning cycle just gets too hot, If your cabinets aren’t installed to spec, and there isn’t enough space behind the oven this can cause the controls and electronics to overheat and blow fuses. Usually, the entire oven will turn off and the door will be locked, this can be a big headache and we usually tell our customers to avoid using this mode if at all possible. On some ovens you can flip the breaker and it will cycle the lock as soon as it powers up but not always.

5. Inconsistent Temperature In Your Oven
If your oven isn’t at the correct temperature, it can be a problem when trying to bake something. Whirlpool ovens will usually manage the temperature with a thermal coupler or temperature sensor. Over time these can wear out and become incorrect. If you are having temperature problems the best thing to do is to put a thermometer inside the oven and test for inaccuracies. If the temperature is in fact wrong, it will be time to call our team of professional oven repairmen, or you can follow this link to Schedule Online!
6. Whirlpool Oven Error Codes
Whirlpool is great at designing ovens that can tell you what is wrong with them before you even realize its having a problem. Common Whirlpool oven error codes include: F6 E1, E2 F3, F1 EO, F8E0, F2E0, and many more. Every error code can mean something different. Whirlpool gives a list of what these errors mean but a lot of times an error code can be popping up because of something totally different then what Whirlpool describes about the error code. Anytime you have an error code, the best thing to do is to call your local Near Appliance Repair Technician to Diagnose your problem correctly. We have seen many customers go down a rabbit hole trying to fix a problem and end up spending much more than they would have, if they had just called a certified appliance technician in the first place.
