Not cooling at all

The most common Samsung call we take. We look at the evaporator fan, the defrost system, the air damper, and the frost buildup behind the rear panel that often causes it.

No ice, or ice won’t dispense
The ice maker may be frozen over, the auger jammed, or the fill tube iced shut. We test the ice maker, water valve, and dispenser before recommending parts.

Leaking or pooling water
Water under the crisper drawers, on the floor, or frozen in a sheet under the freezer basket usually traces to a blocked defrost drain, the water line, or the filter housing. We find the source before quoting a repair.

Frost buildup or warm spots
Frost on the back wall, ice on the freezer floor, or food freezing in the fresh-food section points at the defrost system, a door seal, or airflow. We test the system that matches your symptoms.

Loud noise or a code on the display
Tell us when the noise happens and take a photo of the display. A code helps narrow the diagnosis; it doesn’t identify a failed part by itself.
Water on the floor, a burning smell, or a very hot compressor area? Stop using the refrigerator. If you can safely reach a dry power connection, disconnect power and shut off the water line to the ice maker. Move food to a cooler, keep clear of wet electrical equipment, and call for help.

Not a fault. Samsung calls this Cooling Off, demo, or shop mode, and it switches off cooling, ice and water. Your manual gives the button sequence that ends it.

Fridge fan
Samsung links this to a fresh-food fan that isn’t turning, often iced up after a door was left ajar or a gasket stopped sealing. If it returns once power is restored, it needs service.

Freezer fan
The freezer fan isn’t turning as expected — ice buildup or a failed motor. Check that the gaskets seal fully and don’t overpack the freezer.

Power or voltage
Samsung ties these to surges, brownouts, or a disrupted startup. If the code comes back after power is restored, the compressor circuit needs testing.
